Manufacturing Process
SMPC has incorporated the most innovative production technology into our production line to ensure that we are in a position to offer a wide array of specifications to meet our customers’ different standards.  Special attention is placed in procuring raw materials by selecting high quality hot-rolled steel sheets and other components such as valves.  This is our greatest priority and ensures the highest durability and wear resistance features of our products. 

The high-caliber team of staff at SMPC controls the entire manufacturing process, where the sheets undergo deep drawing process into desired shapes and dimensions as specified by our customers.  In-process cylinders are then passed through a high- temperature kiln to restructure the physical properties of the steel sheets.  The welding process is completed prior to undergoing the demanding inspection procedures, such as hydrostatic test.  Welded tanks are then forwarded into short-blasting, color coating, and pressure testing processes.  Tests are strictly conducted where cylinders are subjected to standardized random inspection for both mechanical properties such as tensile, elongation, burst tests (which is 4 times of working pressure) and other physical properties such as thickness and consistency of quality throughout the product.  All procedures are carried out by a highly-experienced team of engineers and operators.  This is carried out so as to allow SMPC to achieve the ultimate goal of manufacturing only quality cylinders and build tested confidence among its users.

All cylinders undergo heat treatment under controlled temperature of 890-930 c to restructure its mechanical properties and rid of any stress remaining inside the cylinder shape steel during welding process.

All cylinders must go through Hydrostatic Pressure Tests twice its normal pressure usage for a period of 30 seconds.  This is to test for any swelling or leakage.

Leakage tests on cylinders under 690 kilo Pascal and water emersions
Leakage tests on cylinders under 140 PSI or 10 BAR. Then press down in water 30 seconds to check for leaks.
